Personal words deserve thoughtful handling. This page explains what happens when you write, share, print, or back up a gift.
Your draft stays on this device.
The writer stores your names, note, reasons, theme, and shared-gift management details in your browser’s local storage. It does not send your working draft to our gift service until you choose Create a gift link. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to access the draft. Clearing browser data removes it; private browsing or blocked storage may prevent saving.
Shared gifts are encrypted before upload.
When you create a gift link, the browser encrypts a snapshot of the gift before sending it to our storage service. The decryption key is included after the # in the link, so the browser does not send it as part of the normal page request. Anyone who has the complete link can read the gift. Treat it like a private letter, and avoid posting it publicly.
The encrypted gift and an identifier are stored on our service. A separate creator deletion token is kept on your device. You can delete a shared gift from the Give tab while you retain that token. Deleting the server copy does not remove screenshots, printouts, downloaded backups, or copies someone else saved. We do not promise permanent archival availability; retain a backup you control.
Backups and printing.
JSON exports contain the readable gift and any saved deletion keys. Store these files privately. Importing reads the file in your browser. Printing uses your browser and printer; saving a PDF creates a separate readable copy. Files are not automatically removed when you reset a draft or delete a shared gift.
Hosting and technical records.
Our hosting and storage providers may process ordinary request information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times, and errors to deliver and protect the service. Gift text is stored by our sharing service as encrypted data. Do not include sensitive information that you would not want the recipient or someone with the full link to see.
Advertising and analytics.
This version includes AdSense site-verification metadata and an ads.txt publisher record. It does not load AdSense ad scripts or third-party analytics in the gift writer or reader. Fonts are served from this site. If advertising or analytics is added, this notice will be updated to describe it.

Contact lautaro@deadcow.xyz for privacy questions. Do not send your complete gift link or decryption key unless you intentionally want to disclose the gift’s contents. If you no longer have a creator deletion token, we may need additional information to investigate a deletion request; we cannot promise to recover a lost draft or key.
